How Your Remote Consultation Works

Consultation fee
£45

From booking to your call with Gill

Step 1

Book your personal consultation for £45

Payment is made through a straightforward checkout, with no subscription or ongoing commitment.

Step 2

Receive my preparation video

Before our appointment, I will show you how to look more closely at your horse’s head, mouth, facial conformation, bit and bridle—and explain what I would like you to notice.

Step 3

Tell me about your horse

You will complete a short consultation form covering your horse’s current bit and bridle, any concerns you have and what you would like help with.

Step 4

Send me ridden videos

Ideally, I would like to see your horse in walk, trot and canter on both reins, where appropriate. However, if you are not yet at the cantering stage or do not feel comfortable cantering, please don’t worry—I can generally learn a great deal from seeing your horse in walk and trot.

Your videos can be sent by WhatsApp or email, allowing me to study your horse before we speak and make the best use of our time together.

Step 5

Meet me—with or without your horse

We will connect by FaceTime, WhatsApp or Zoom video. If you have your horse with you, I can guide you through some additional checks and explain what I am seeing in clear, everyday language.

Alternatively, you may prefer to talk everything through without your horse listening in—that is absolutely fine too!

Step 6

Assess your horse with me

You know your horse better than anyone. You know what is normal for them, what has changed and how they feel to ride. I bring more than 30 years of practical bitting knowledge and experience. By combining the two, we can build a much clearer picture.

Step 7

Step away from the yard noise

“You need this bit.” “My horse goes brilliantly in that.” “You should be doing this…”

Well-meaning opinions can quickly become confusing. This is your opportunity to take a breath, ask every question you want and receive completely independent advice based on your horse.

Step 8

Look beyond the bit

The bit is only one piece of the puzzle. We will consider its size, shape and action alongside your horse’s mouth, facial conformation, bridle fit, comfort, behaviour and way of going. If I believe something else needs investigating, I will tell you honestly.

Step 9

Receive personal recommendations

You will receive practical guidance for your individual horse-and-rider partnership—not a fashionable answer, a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all solution.

My responsibility is first and foremost to your horse: helping them feel more comfortable while encouraging clearer communication, greater understanding and a more confident partnership between you.

Step 10

Receive a FREE follow-up call within one month

Once you have made any agreed changes and had time to see how your horse responds, we will speak again by appointment. We can discuss what has improved, answer any new questions and decide whether anything needs adjusting.
